The Most Wonderful Coffee/Tea Alternative Ever!

Yes, this is Jessie Spano's "I'm so excited, I'm so scared" epic breakdown. After recently being tested for food sensitivities, I learned I am sensitive to both coffee and tea (even decaf). I really had a feeling this was coming because I put way too much decaf coffee and tea into my system on a daily basis. I can still have herbal teas, which are naturally caffeine free, but I can’t have black or green teas. I can’t have any kind of coffee.

And it’s pumpkin latte season.

THIS WAS HEART-BREAKING NEWS. (Please see the above picture).

TeeccinoLuckily, I learned about a fantastic alternative called Teeccino. Just like herbal tea is an alternative to regular tea, Teeccino is sort of like an “herbal coffee” alternative to regular coffee. According to its label, the ingredients are “organic carob, organic barley, organic chicory, dates, almonds, organic dates, natural hazelnut flavor, and organic figs.” You just brew it in hot water like regular tea, and it seriously tastes like delicious hazelnut coffee. (I am not getting paid to write this - it’s just really good).

One thing I noticed was that it’s less acidic than coffee and tea and much easier on my stomach as a result. I was able to find it at Giant Eagle, the local grocery store near my house, right in the aisle with coffee and tea.

Do coffee or tea give you migraines? Do you have any alternatives that you like?
